October was harvesting time for cranberry farmers in Wisconsin. Aided by UW-Madison research, cranberry bushes are producing higher yields with heartier and sweeter berries, with a shorter time to maturity. Wisconsin has become the international leader in cranberry production and is now responsible for approximately 60 percent of the world’s crop.
